A man was allegedly assaulted by his neighbor Friday night on Leighton Avenue.

A 38-year-old Anniston man told police he had an argument with his neighbors Friday on the 500 block of South Leighton Avenue, Sgt. Chris Sparks said.

According to sparks, the victim told police that several minutes after the dispute, a neighbor threw a beer bottle that struck him in the chin. Sparks said the victim suffered a cut, but the sergeant was uncertain whether the man went to the hospital.

Sparks said this morning that police had not identified a suspect.

A suspect will likely face charges second-degree assault, a felony, according to a police report.
