The Houston Texans picked Jacksonville State's Alan Bonner in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

Bonner is the first JSU player chosen in the draft since 1991. He led the team this year in receptions with 50, receiving yards with 859 and touchdowns with eight.

"It's been a long journey and it's just a blessing," Bonner said today. "I was just playing the waiting game the last few hours and I was just filled with such joy when I saw my name on the screen."
