So what about Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel, the most recent Heisman winner? He probably will flame out, too. NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks says Manziel isn’t tall enough, is unrefined as a pocket passer and lacks arm strength.
All of those are reasonable criticisms from someone who knows the business as Brooks does, and he isn’t alone in his analysis. In the end, Manziel probably will be one of those who has better luck selling jerseys and throwing touchdown passes against pro defenses.
But wouldn’t it be fun to see Manziel do well in the NFL? He’s so much fun to watch, and I dare say most fans would agree – except when he is playing against their team.
The NFL is a great league, but sometimes it could use a small injection of fun, such as Manziel.
