What is Anniston's "thing"?

By that, I mean, what is it that Anniston could use to market itself to outsiders looking for a place to live or to those wanting to enjoy their time here?

Before you answer that, I direct you to my column this morning, "A top-10 list without us, again," that discusses other small Southern cities that are recognized for having a cultural vibe in food, performing arts, literature, art and design and music. Florence, Ala., is one of those cities, according to Garden and Gun magazine.

So, I ask, what is -- or what could be -- Anniston's cultural vibe? What could be its selling point?

I'm curious to know your thoughts. Leave 'em in the comments section below.
