Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matt Wade said four people were arrested Sunday after they attempted to burglarize the home of an Anniston police officer in Alexandria Saturday.

Deputies arrested Shasta Boswell, 36; Anton Johnson, 21; Demonta Miller, 25, and Devadra Smith, 18, Sunday on felony charges of attempted second-degree burglary, according to court records.

According to Wade, the wife of the officer was at home with their two children Saturday when they saw four people looking at them through their back porch window.

According to Wade, the victim barricaded herself in her bedroom with her children and a pistol. The deputy said when the suspects saw people were home, they fled the scene in a green SUV.

Wade said the suspects went north up U.S. 431 and were stopped by police on Alexandria Heights Road.

Wade said one of the suspects jumped out of the car and ran while police apprehended the others.

Wade said the suspect who ran was stopped by citizens living on Alexandria-Wellington Road. The two held him until police arrived, the deputy said.

Boswell, Johnson and Smith were in the Calhoun County Jail Tuesday on felony charges of second-degree attempted burglary.

All three have bonds set at $15,000 and a court date set for Aug. 8.

Miller was released on a $15,000 bond Monday. His court date is set for Aug. 8.
