A 14-year-old boy was reportedly assaulted with a brick Saturday night while walking in Anniston.

The Anniston boy’s mother told police he was walking near the intersection of 18th Street and Abbott Avenue when he was assaulted by four men with whom he was acquainted, Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said.

The assault occurred Saturday between 9:50 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to a police report

During the assault, Sparks said, the boy was struck in the back of the head with a brick.

The victim did not require medical attention, the sergeant said.

The boy provided the four suspects’ names to police, but Sparks said investigators had not made contact with the men as of Monday morning.

The suspects are likely to be charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to the report.
