One of the more personal and unique issues we have with Xan is discipline.  Perhaps with "normal" kids, it can be an easier call - you can take it on faith that the child understood the instruction they chose not to do, disobey, ignore, whatever because you know they could comprehend what th...

It is a difficult task to see yourself for who you really are.  Self-assessment is not easy, and I would say it is especially more difficult for men.  We always want to see, and quite easily do see more often than not, the best in ourselves.  We always want to think we are right, and even in ou...

Working at a job site, I often need to get into an attic space via a storage room.  This almost always requires me to use a stepladder, and then transition from the ladder laterally to the attic space.  I've done it before.  In fact, I've done it lots of times on lots of job sites.  On a day ea...

Dear Gov. Robert Bentley,

If asked to name your favorite sports team, do NOT follow the lead of this Republican governor.

Politico reports on this comment from Chris Christie: "My favorite football team is not the New York Giants. It’s not the New York Jets. And it’s not the Philadelphia Eagles. No, get ready now. My favorite football team are the Dallas Cowboys.”

Did we mention Christie is the governor of New Jersey. That would be like the governor of Alabama saying his favorite team was Notre Dame.
