LAMBERTServices for Rodney Freeman Lambert, 63, were at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, in the chapel of K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel. Rev. Garry Brown officiated. Burial was in Nances Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Lambert died April 21 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Laverne Lambert, of Jacksonville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney and Manya Lambert Jr. of Jasper, Tenn., Raymond Lambert, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Patrick and Cheryl Lambert of Wellington; his mother, Geneva Lambert of Pell City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sylvia Staples, of Pell City and Deborah and Tony Champion of Atlanta; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were sons and grandsons.
Mr. Lambert was a Christian who attended Nances Creek Baptist Church for more than 20 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He worked at Fort McClellan as a firefighter for 22 years and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 42 F&AM.

MAHAN
Memorial services for Jimmy Ray Mahan, 63, of Anniston were at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, in the chapel of Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Rev. Wayne Sims officiated.
Mr. Mahan died April 23 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a stepson, Johnny Evans and his wife Rita of Piedmont; a stepdaughter, Tabatha Key and her husband, Richard “Big Rick” of Oxford; five grandchildren, Johnny Evans Jr., Jerry Evans, Shaunda Moss and her husband David, Susan Evans and Chasity Harrellson and her husband Shane; five great-grandchildren, Serena Moss, Sasha Evans, Clint Evans, Rachael Evans and Katherine Evans; a great-great-grandson; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Martha Mahan of Weaver; a special sister-in-law and caregiver, Shirley Noah Mahan; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mahan was retired from Bynum and Anniston Roofing and Siding. His wife Mary Mahan, his parents Jimbo and Velma Mahan, two brothers Herschel Mahan and J.V. Mahan and a sister Emma Lou Smith preceded him in death.
POWELL
Memorial services for Gerald Powell, 81, of Destin, Fla., formerly of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston.
Mr. Powell died April 21 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Battles Powell of Destin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Billy Bridell of Birmingham and Jenny Pair of Birmingham; a son, Mike Powell of Jacksonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Frankie Powell of Centre; a sister, Willyne Mansfield of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Ragland, Brian and Mary Aileen Mackin, Jennifer Murray and her husband, William, Shane Forbus, Heather Forbus, Kirk Abernathy and his wife, Betsy, Mandy Whitson and her husband, Brian and five great-grandchildren, Clara Grace, John, and Rainey Murray, Meghan Forbus, and Holland Abernathy.
Mr. Powell was born on Sept. 23, 1926 in Centre to the late Dr. and Mrs. William H. Powell. He was a graduate of Cherokee County High School and the University of Alabama. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

PRICKETT
Services for Leola Prickett, 70, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Angel Grove Baptist Church. Eugene Burgess will officiate. Burial will be in Union Methodist Cemetery. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will direct.
Ms. Prickett died April 27 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include two sisters, Novie P. Manor of Jacksonville and Mary Snelling of Ohatchee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover and Myris Prickett Jr. of Ohatchee and Marshall and Margaret Prickett of Jacksonville; six nieces and 10 nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School class.
Ms. Prickett was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School, a beautician and a caregiver. Her parents Grover C. and Beulah Prickett and a brother Sargent Prickett preceded her in death.

REAVES
Services for Nettie V. Reaves, 74, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, in the chapel of K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Jonathan Pate officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Reaves died April 26 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Reaves; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Danny Malsy of Jacksonville; Becky Price of Jacksonville and Shirley and Perre Ward of Saks; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Mary Lee Reaves of Glencoe, Michael and Jeannie Reaves of Jacksonville and Darryl and Rhonda Reaves of Jacksonville; a sister, Ruth Smith of Jacksonville; a brother, Gene Hooks of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Chad Turner, Jeff Hooks, Billy Goble, Sr., Billy Goble, Jr., Dustin Myers, and Jimmy Pate.
Mrs. Reaves was a Christian.
SCRUGGS
Graveside services for Julie Andrews Scruggs, 50, of Shelby County were at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham. A memorial service was at noon at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Riverchase. Dr. Chris DeGreen officiated. Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham directed.
Mrs. Scruggs died April 15.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Scruggs; her parents, Robert “Buddy” and Geraldine Andrews of Arab, formerly of Jacksonville; a son, Brian Matthew Johnson; two daughters, Bethany Kay Johnson and Jamie Leigh Johnson; two step sons, Joseph Andrew Scruggs and Timothy Ryan Scruggs; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Joan Andrews; a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and David Elwell and five nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Scruggs was employed as a computer programmer at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Alabama. She graduated in the top of her class at Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree. Her double major was in computer science and math.
She was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Riverchase and was a supporter of her children’s activities at Jefferson State Community College, Oak Mountain High School and Oak Mountain Middle School.
