CENTRE — Funeral service for Mr. Larry Don Ayers, 57, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sand Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Ayers died Tuesday at Dekalb Medical Center.

LEEDS — Wanda Lee Battles, 83, of Leeds, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Mrs. Battles is survived by her sons, Thomas R. Battles (Jan) of Leeds, Gary Battles (Dianne) of Mobile ; sisters, Kathleen Beecher, Dorris Jean Trust; brothers, Harry Hurley, Merlin Tucker; grandchildren, Alesha Smith (Jeff), David Battles (Sherri); great-grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Emma Smith and William Battles. Funeral service will be at Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 10 a.m at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with Graveside Services at Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston, at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds. ANNISTON — Irma Irene Dalton, 73, died Monday, September 1, 2008 at her residence. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Carol House; five sisters, Jewel Yeomans, Vola Bush, Dell Henry, Wynetta White, and Gail Mozelle Bryant; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Baptist by faith, she was a kind and loving mother and wife, who valued her relationship with her family and was always ready and willing to help someone in need. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dalton; her parents, Isaac and Carrie Henry; and two sons, Isaac Hunter Henry and Kenneth Dalton. A memorial service will be at a later date. COLLINSVILLE — Memorial service for Mrs. Mary Evelyn Graves, 66 will be 11a.m., Friday at Grace Point Church of God. Mrs. Graves died Monday in Collinsville Nursing home.

JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Mildred Irene Tubbs, 78, of Jacksonville, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Gray Brown Service Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Tubbs died Monday at Jacksonville Medical Center.

Survivors include, son, Wayne Tubbs, of Jacksonville; brothers, Roy Kelley, Norman Kelley, Donald (Red) Kelley and his wife Jackie, Phil Kelley and wife Denise, all of Anniston. Mrs. Tubbs is preceded in death by husband, Oddis Tubbs; son, Thomas Tubbs; brothers, Ivan Cole, Frank Kelley, Eugene Kelley and Joseph Kelley.

LINCOLN — Graveside service for Mrs. Myrtle Louise Vincent, age, 90 of Lincoln will be announced by Usrey-Brown-Service Funeral Home. Mrs. Vincent died at her residence.

WATKINS

OHATCHEE — Rose A. Watkins, 83, died September 1, 2008 at her residence in Ohatchee. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will be directing the arrangements. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Callaway and her husband, Lewis of Ohatchee, ; two sons, Arthur Watkins and his wife, Kaye of Weaver, and Richard Watkins of New Mexico; a brother, Leroy Addison of Johnstown, OH; six grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Patasakala, Ohio. She enjoyed working puzzles and playing board games, feeding and watching birds, squirrels and deer in her yard. Rose loved her family, friends and never met a stranger. She would do anything for anyone and loved doing what she could do. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Watkins and her parents, Arthur and Irene Addison.
