BENTLEY

MUSCADINE — Services for Jeannine Marie Bentley, 45, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church. Visitation from 5-9 tonight at Miller Funeral Home, Tallapoosa, Ga.

BYRD

MOBILE — A memorial prayer for Ginger (Yevick) Byrd will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Hill Crest Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mrs. Byrd passed away on April 4, 2008 at the residence of her daughter, Ann Linder, in Mobile. Mrs. Byrd was born on February 12, 1934 in Jacksonville and had lived in Anniston for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann Linder, Vickie McCurry, and Jackie Houston; a son, Billy Adams; grandchildren, Mike Cheatwood, Ronnie Linder Jr., Sebrina and Crystal Houston, Tiffany, Tabitha, Cristina and Cody Adams; great-grandchildren, Leanna, Dillon, Katelin, Hunter, Justin, Megan, Madison, Sonja and Makaila. She was preceded in death by one son, Mike Adams, and a great grandchild, Billy McCurry.

HAND

RANBURNE — Mrs. Myrt Lee Hand passed away on May 14, 2008 at her residence. She was 83. Mrs. Hand was born on April 18, 1925 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Joe V. and Pearl Butler Heard. She was a homemaker and a dedicated member of Gold Ridge Baptist Church. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was loved and respected by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duell O. Hand and her brother, J.T. Heard.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Betty and Gary Ward, of Tuscaloosa, Rita and Joey Hollaway and Steve Hand, all of Ranburne, and Joey and Mary Hand, of Heflin; her grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Carolyn Ward, of Jasper, Melinda and Brad Williams, of Tuscaloosa, Tia and Jerry Agan, of Bremen, Georgia, Jennifer Hand, of Birmingham, and Matthew Hand, of Oxford; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mary Frances, Thomas, and Sarah Margaret Ward, Andrew and John Williams, and Lily Agan; and two special caregivers, DeAnne Terry and Pat McCurry.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrt Hand will be at on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. (Alabama Time) at Gold Ridge Baptist Church. the Rev. Gary Ward, The Rev. T.J. Morgan, and The Rev. Bobby Garner will officiate. Music will be furnished by the church choir and the youth choir under the direction of Laura Edwards. Interment will follow the services in the church cemetery. Prior the funeral services, Mrs. Hand's body will lie-in-state at the church from 1 until 2 p.m. (Alabama Time). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. (Georgia Time). KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Services for May R. Kelby will be at 11:00 a.m., today, May 16, 2008, at Progressive Baptist Church. Visitation from 9-11 a.m. Watkins Brothers Memorial Chapel of Memphis TN, formerly of Cherokee County, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

GUY

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Graveside services for Mr. Luther Wright Guy, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday May 17, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on 273 with The Rev. Alan Copeland officiating.

PARKER

HEFLIN — Mrs. Billie Rena Parker, 49, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parker were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Mahathy officiating. Interment followed at Crumley's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Brooks, Norman Deese, Everett Smith, Scottie Cofield, Willis Fordham, and Gregg Deese.

Survivors include her mother, Lillie Owedia (Deese) Spruell, of Heflin; father, Wendall Spruell, of Heflin; son, Scott Shephard, of Odenville; brother, Michael Fordham, of Heflin; and a grandson, Blaine Shephard. Mrs. Parker was born on January 23, 1959 in Carrollton, Georgia. She had been a resident of Cleburne County for most of her life and was a member of Crumley's Chapel Church of God. REID

HEFLIN — Bettye Lena Reid, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reid will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Hayes and The Rev. Lamar Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Heflin City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dale Welch, Houston Auten, Bill Fordham, Bob Wood, Chad Reid, Chip Reid, Frank Reid, Allen Couch, and Greg Fordham.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Reid, of Heflin; daughter, Linda (Andy) Landers, of Anniston; four sisters, Mazie Welch and Myrtice Merrill, both of Anniston; Mary Fordham, and Lillian (Dr. Robert) Wood, both of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Landers and Krystal Landers; one great-grandchild, Samantha Landers; and cousins, Tiny Blanton and Lee Lipham. Mrs. Reid, a life long resident of Cleburne County, was a former employee of The General Electric Plant in Oxford and later worked over 25 years at Harpers Tasty Dip in Heflin. REYNOLDS

MORGANTON, N.C. — Nancy Harbison Reynolds, 88, formerly of Anniston and Knoxville, Tenn., passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Grace Ridge Retirement Community in Morganton, ending a valiant 8 year journey through Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Reynolds was born, raised, and spent her last years in Morganton, North Carolina. She was the third-born of five children of James and Louise Harbison and was predeceased by all except her younger sister, Laura Consley, also of Grace Ridge. A graduate of and valedictorian of the class of 1939 at Morganton High School, Mrs. Reynolds was further educated at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now UNC Greensboro). She was married to the love of her life, Harry Reynolds, in August 1945, on the same day that World War lI ended, and they were happily married for 54 years before his death in 1999. A lifelong Episcopalian, Mrs. Reynolds was most currently a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Morganton, the same church in which she was baptized as an infant. Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her son, Harry Reynolds Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Nancy Heatherly and her husband, John, of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, John Heatherly III and his wife, Devereux, of Moore, Okla., Erica Pritchett and her husband, John, of Waxahachie, Texas, Elliott Reynolds, of Georgetown, Texas, and Cynthia Heatherly, of Brentwood, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Lucas Reynolds, of Marshfield, Mo., and Madeline Pritchett, of Waxahachie, Texas; and sister, Laura Consley of Morganton; several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Reynolds' memory may be sent to the Generation to Generation Campaign at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 S. King St., Morganton, NC 28655 or to the Alzheimer's Association (see alz.org).

SEXTON

EASTABOGA — Funeral services for Miss Andrea Sudan Sexton, 54, will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Edgemont Cemetery. Miss Sexton is survived by her godson, Michael E. Maye and caregivers, Cathy Raley, of Anniston and Helen Crews, of Eastaboga. Miss Sexton was a native of Alabama, but has resided in Calhoun County for the past 20 years. She was a graduate of Mt. WHITE

ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mr. David White, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Zion Rising Star Church of God In Christ with Evangelist W. Goggins officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Hills Cemetery with Anniston Funeral Service in charge. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services. Mr. White died peacefully on May 8, 2008 at Stringfellow Hospital in Anniston.

Survivors include, three children, David White Jr, of Washington, D.C., Mary White, and Naomi White, both of Anniston; two grandchildren, Teressa C. White, of Alexandria, Va.; and Christopher White, of Philadelphia, Pa.; eight great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Mary Alice Jemison, of Anniston.

Pallbearers friends of the family. Mr. White was a life long resident and a member of the Zion Rising Star Church of God in Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie White and Patsy Pope-White, his wife, older siblings and his granddaughter Tania White. The family will accept flowers.
