Council listens to pet owners 06-23-2009

Residents of Jacksonville had filled the seats and were standing along the walls on Monday as the Jacksonville City Council opened the floor for discussion about a proposed draft ordinance that would limit the number of pets per household.
Services for a retired colonel and active member of the community were at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at First United Methodist Church.
Roe named PV principal 06-23-2009

For the last 10 years, Ed Roe has worked as the assistant principal for Pleasant Valley High School. Next month, he gets to sit in the principal’s chair.
The City of Jacksonville is planning a fireworks display for July 3, but unlike in years past, it will not be held at the Jacksonville State University coliseum.

Fifth Mondays are a rarity in the calendar year, there are only five this year, so the Jacksonville City Council has decided to use those days to give them a little extra time to plan and learn the things needed to lead the city.
