James and Judy (Albea) Tompkins celebrated 50 years of marriage recently. Mrs. Tompkins is a native of Piedmont; James is a native of Jacksonville.They were married Aug 27, 1958 at Piedmont Congregational Holiness Church by Rev. Cecil Tompkins, the brother of James. Their first home was in Cedartown, Ga.
Their children are June Tompkins and Dr. Jennifer Tompkins of Jacksonville, Jimmy Tompkins of Clanton and Jonathan Tompkins of Oxford. They have eight grandchildren
They are retired from Anniston Army Depot.
