• First Baptist Church on Vann Street welcomed members of Grace Tabernacle recently. Just like they have for several years, Tina and Dr. John Brown made this fellowship possible. • Rev. P. Q. English of the Greater Thankful Baptist Church in Anniston will be the evangelist in a revival at First Baptist Aug. 18-20.

• Usher Day was Sunday, Aug. 10, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Lyndon Laster was master of ceremonies. Rev. George L. Lauderdale of New Emmanuel Baptist Church spoke. Kayla Cannon welcomed everyone. Clarence Chambers and Shirlene Chambers gave the scripture and prayer. Greggory Lathan explained the purpose of the usher. Rev. Roosevelt Parker introduced the speaker. Solaria Pernell recognized visitors.
• Special thanks to Mrs. Lovell Bucanna for the back-to-school supplies give-away and health fair at New Hop. Bible study and prayer meeting take place at New Hope at 11 a.m. and 6:30 every Wednesday. Sunday school is at 9:30 and the service begins at 11. Rev, Roosevelt Parker is the pastor.
• The Daybreak Crisis Recovery Center provides support to victims and survivors of sexual violence. Daybreak is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist victims of sexual violence. • 2-1-1 is a community health and social service. 2-1-1 Connects is partnered with various agencies in Alabama a statewide to be the number to call for information regarding the health and well being of community. It was developed to provide callers with prevention and safety tips about their health and disaster events such as pandemic flu and hurricane safety.
