Morrison represents state at storytelling convention; receives standing ovation

08-20-2008

The southeast region of the National Storytelling Network had its top state representatives from Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee tell stories during the national conference, Making Connections, the weekend of Aug. 7-9 in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Jacksonville State University Field Schools’ Renee Morrison was chosen to represent Alabama and received a standing ovation for her humorous tale, “My Life as a Black and Tan Coonhound.” Morrison also utilized the opportunity to promote JSU’s new Canyon Center to the hundreds in attendance.
