Ceremony takes place

The Gen. William Henry Forney No. 468 United Daughters of the Confederacy held a dedication ceremony for former chapter president and former district director Katherine Hindman Johnson in Edgemont Cemetery on July 26. Anniston UDC Chapter president Sonja M. Randle led the service. District director Helen M. Johnson and district chaplain Linda Haynes assisted. Dudley Snow Rangers No. 955 Children of the Confederacy member Bailey Griffin unveiled the marker. A ceremonial wreath was placed at the graveside by Forney chapter members Wanda Tucker and Ann H. Harbeston.
