Bryan Hammonds and Mary Stinson were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony recently at Creek Bend Farm in Wellington. Before the couple arrived Sandy McClure blessed the group of 250 well-wishers.The couple arrived in a 1947 Cadillac, driving across the one-lane metal bridge while the “Wedding March” was being played. Their dog Mutt joined them as they walked down to a three-column archway with white bouquets of roses and orchids.
Taylor Findley read I Corinthians 13. Donald Turner, Donna McCluer and Marvin Williams provided the music. Judge Gus Colvin performed the double-ring ceremony.
The groom’s grandfather, Louis Hammonds, held the rings for the couple.
A reception was held by the creek under a white tent. Giant vases held orchids and candles which adorned the teal and brown covered tables. Food was provided by Barbara McGinnis Wilson.
The celebration went on into the night with dancing and fellowship.
After a trip to the beach the couple now resides in Jacksonville.
