• Mitchell Salter had a pool party on Saturday, Aug. 2. We hope Mitchell had a wonderful day and a wonderful party. • The fifth annual Pastor’s Appreciation took place at St. Paul CME Church to honor Rev. Mark L. Cooper recently. Rev. Jermaine Marshall of Murray Temple CME Church spoke. Worship leader was Yolanda Daniel. Inspirational singing was by the Pine Grove CME Church of Eastaboga. Assisting with the program were Eula Salter, Gayle McClellan, Angela Whetstone, Charlene Elston and Jonnie Jones.
• New Hope Missionary Baptist Church had a women’s conference July 24-26. Angela Walker of Faith Outreach Ministers in Anniston, Debra Brown of Heflin and Loretta Moore of Cornerstone Worship in Anniston spoke.
• New Hope Baptist Church had the first annual youth choir day on July 20. Rainey Taylor and Jervon Cowden were masters of ceremonies. Taking part in the program were Karlton Fears, Benjamin Pryor, Travianna Fears, Diane Carpenter and Rev. Parker. Everyone enjoyed the day and is looking forward to another one.
• St. Paul CME Church celebrated its 133rd anniversary June 29. Rev. Jamie Capers of Mt. Zion CME Church in Alpine spoke. Taking part in the program were Louise Veasley, Rev. Charles Moore, Rev. Mark Cooper and Bessie Moore.
