Todd Chandler will serve as White Plains principal

07-30-2008

Todd Chandler is White Plains’ new principal. He replaces Davine Miller.

He and his wife, Jeanna, who teaches special education at Oxford High School, have two children, both of whom attend White Plains Elementary School. Chase is 10 and Rian is 8.

Chandler was born and reared in Oxford. After graduating from Oxford High School, he obtained his bachelor’s in physical education and health and his master’s in educational administration at Jacksonville State University.

He has spent the past 15 years as a member of the Alabama Army National Guard and is currently sergeant 1st class.

“That’s pretty much my hobby,” he said.

Chandler says that he is looking forward to working with the staff, teachers and students at White Plains.

“I’ve always said that White Plains is the best kept secret in Calhoun County,” he says.

“Everyone here is very nice to my wife and me as well as our daughters. I want to continue with the academic excellence that Miss (Davine) Miller and Mr. (Ben) Character started. That is first and foremost.”
