Battelle announced May 23 that area schools and teachers have been awarded $8,000 in educational grants for science and mathematics laboratory materials and classroom supplies.School grants were awarded to Munford Elementary and Alexandria high schools. Teacher grants were awarded to Missy Wagner, Katie Wood, Amy McAllister and Lois Shew of Pleasant Valley Elementary; Cynthia Lynch, C. E. Hannah; Diane Turley, Faith Christian; Christy Hamilton, Ohatchee Elementary; Rebecca Baggett, Piedmont Elementary; Angela Studdard, Piedmont High; Diana Durham, Saks Middle; Brooke McFry, Saks Elementary and Robyn Owens, Wellborn Elementary.
“Schools are seeking ways to improve classroom instruction so students will be prepared for the future. We are delighted that Battelle can help them achieve these goals,” said Pamela Jenkins, Westinghouse Anniston operations support manager and Battelle site manager.

We are delighted to provide schools the opportunity to help their teachers carry out creative and innovative classroom experiences with their students,” said Ms. Jenkins.
