JSU has spring commencement

Jacksonville State University’s spring commencement was at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, in Paul Snow Stadium. Dr. Harvey H. “Hardy” Jackson III, professor of history and chair of the History and Foreign Languages Department at JSU, delivered the address.

Distinguished graduates were Julie Marie Frasier of Gadsden, Kathryn N. Greer of Jacksonville, Wendy Dumas Gregory of Altoona, Jade C. Hill of Piedmont, Whittany A. Hodnett of Lanett, Rebekah Fran Holley of Weaver, Bobbie Davis Maddox of Gadsden, Erin Marie Marbut of Gadsden, Astin Leigh Mobley of Ranburne, David Michael Robbins of Boazand Tiffany Renea Tolleson of Boaz. Four of these graduates — Frasier, Mobley, Hodnett and Tolleson — received the Bachelor of Science in education. Three of these four have a major in elementary education. Tolleson’s major is mathematics. Two of the 11 received the Bachelor of Arts degree. They were Rebekah Fran Holley with a double major in communication and sociology and Bobbie Davis Maddox with a major in liberal studies.

The other five top graduates received the Bachelor of Science degree. Of these five, Kathryn N. Greer and Wendy Dumas Gregory graduated with a major in biology. Two others, Jade C. Hill and Erin Marie Marbut, graduated with a major in psychology. David Micheal Robbins graduated with a major in chemistry.
