Wedding set for April 28

Mr. and Mrs. Ezell Dickerson of Jacksonville announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy Monique Dickerson, to Michael Arvell McDermott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael G. McDermott of Montgomery and Mrs. Estella L. McDermott of Cedartown, Ga.

Miss Dickerson is a 2000 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She received a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University in December. She is employed by Serenity Counseling Services in Anniston.

She is the granddaughter of the late James and Dorothy Pulley of Laurens, S.C., the late Emmett Dickerson of Camp Hill and the late Ida Mae Dickerson Abner of Detroit, Mich. She is the sister of Ezell Dickerson II.

The groom-elect is a 1998 graduate of Cedartown High School. He is employed by Alternet Security in Anniston.

He is the grandson of the late Percy and Mamie Hammock of Cedartown, Kathleen Thompson of Brooklyn, N Y., and the late Leroy McDermott of Kingston, Jamaica. He is the brother of Kathleen R. McDermott of Cedartown and Susan Houghton of Norman, Okla.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m. April 28 at First Baptist Church, 230 Seventh St., N.E., Jacksonville. The reception will be in Anniston following the ceremony.
